Accused Walnut Creek Bank Robber Arrested

Brendan Gray is charged with bank robberies in Walnut Creek, Lafayette, and Orinda.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY — A man accused of robbing three banks this month — in Walnut Creek, Lafayette, and Orinda — was arrested on Thursday. Brendan Gray, 41, was arrested at his home in Alamo and booked into jail in Martinez. He is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.

A spokesman for the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office, Jimmy Lee, said in a press release that Gray is accused of robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Walnut Creek on Feb. 1, a Wells Fargo Bank in Orinda on Feb. 12, and finally a Wells Fargo Bank in Lafayette on Feb. 19.

The Walnut Creek, Lafayette, and Danville police departments and Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office all worked together to identify a suspect vehicle, and then Brendan Gray.
