WALNUT CREEK, CA — Walnut Creek shoppers have one week left to visit a Petco that has anchored a convenient Ygnacio Valley Road stop for nearly a decade.
Petco will close its store at 2820 Ygnacio Valley Road on Sept. 21, almost exactly 10 years after the location opened, according to the Bay Area Telegraph.
The store occupies a space in The Orchards shopping center at Ygnacio Valley and Oak Grove roads, next to Safeway. Its closure will eliminate one option for shoppers making a quick pet food, treat, or supply run along Ygnacio Valley Road.
The North Walnut Creek store was one of 13 new locations opened nationwide in 2016.
Customers can continue visiting Petco stores at 1301 S. California Boulevard in Walnut Creek and 1150 Concord Avenue in Concord.
Customers with grooming appointments, training sessions, or other services should contact the Ygnacio Valley Road store about arrangements before it closes.
The reason for the closure and the identity of a replacement tenant remain unconfirmed.
