• Closing Soon, Pet Store Shuts Down After Decade In Contra Costa (patch.com) — Walnut Creek residents have just one week left to shop at the Petco on Ygnacio Valley Road, which is closing Sept. 21 after nearly a decade at The Orchards center. The shutdown removes a convenient North Walnut Creek option for pet supplies and services, though other Petco locations in Walnut Creek and Concord will remain open.
• Festival Opera group's Salon Series coming soon to Piedmont arts center (eastbaytimes.com) — A Walnut Creek‑based Festival Opera program is spotlighting its first class of Resident Artists, who have already performed in Opera in the Park shows in Walnut Creek and Orinda. Their upcoming Salon Series concerts in Piedmont will feature arias, ensembles, and a time‑spanning mix of composers, giving local opera fans a chance to hear emerging professionals in an intimate arts‑center setting.
