Artist Call: Submit A Masterpiece For Big Belly Waste Bins!

WALNUT CREEK, CA – Walnut Creek Downtown and the City of Walnut Creek are seeking art submissions for an upcoming downtown project -- adorning the 40 Big Belly waste bins during the city’s Community Service Day on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Residents of all ages can create artwork -- with a recycling theme -- to be displayed on the side of bins throughout downtown Walnut Creek. The plan is for the art to be displayed for one to three years, and selected artists also will have their contributions displayed on Walnut Creek Downtown's website.

Entries are due by 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 6, and chosen artists will be notified Aug. 31, according to organizers.

The selection committee will include representatives from Walnut Creek Downtown, city staff, city art commissioners, along with one or two downtown business owners or managers.

To participate, images must be submitted via Dropbox by emailing a Dropbox link to services@walnutcreekdowntown.com. The art should be approximately 31 7/16 inches wide by 45 inches high.
