Since 2006, Assistance League of Diablo Valley has enjoyed a Corporate Partnerships component, where employee volunteers from local businesses and corporations become directly involved with several of our philanthropic programs.
On September 11, ten employee volunteers from Chevron, San Ramon reported to Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s Annex to continue the Chevron mission of investing “human energy” in the local community. Corporate Partners Committee Chair Linda Mercer prefaced the Operation School Bell-Clothing bagging event with an update regarding the chapter’s nine hands-on, philanthropic programs’ purpose and impact.

In two-and-one-half hours’ time, all involved had placed six pairs of socks, six pairs of underwear, a sweatshirt, two pairs of pants for the boys or one pair of pants and one skort (upon request) for the girls, and three white, collared shirts—all into large, reusable blue bags. Together, Assistance League of Diablo Valley’s Operation School Bell-Clothing and Chevron improved lives in the community by putting “Caring and Commitment into Action.” These bags will be delivered to Glen Cove Elementary School, in Pittsburg, for distribution to eager and appreciative schoolchildren.
