This falcon was found on the ground in the East Bay and brought to Lindsay Wildlife Hospital for treatment.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Merlin Falcon with a broken wing has been nursed back to health at Lindsay Wildlife Hospital in Walnut Creek. Now fully recovered, on Monday it was released into the wild.
The small falcon was found on the ground in the Richmond area and brought to the hospital. Typically, Lindsay gets anywhere from two to four of these fierce falcons every year.
According to the Audubon Society, the Merlin are doing well in North American with most populations either stable or increasing. They prefer conifer woodlands and prairie groves although they also do fine in foothills, marshes and open country.
