CLARINET FUSION, the Bay Area’s premiere Clarinet Choir, brings their resonating sound to an upcoming concert titled ‘In the Spotlight’ at 7PM on Friday, April 24 at the Martinez Community Senior Center. Join us for an exciting mix of tunes that includes popular, fun!, classical, a little bit of jazz, and features the individual instruments and musicians.
Clarinet Fusion, a recipient of the Contra Costa County Arts Recognition Award, is based in Pleasant Hill and is in its 17th year entertaining audiences around the Bay Area and beyond. With its wonderful blend of 9 musicians playing 5 different kinds of clarinets – from the smallest high-pitched Eb clarinet at 19 inches to the largest Contrabass clarinet at 9 feet, Fusion brings its varied musical programing for the enjoyment of all. Come learn about clarinets, hear some great music and the emcee will share some fun facts about the songs along the way. The musicians will be available to talk with you and answer questions after the concert.
 The concert is open to the public – all ages welcome! Doors open at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $5 per person and available at the door.

The Ruth Bancroft Garden has partnered with <a href="https://www.ccwater.com/160/Lawn-to-Garden-Rebate" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Contra Costa Water District</a> and <a href="https://www.ebmud.com/water/conservation-and-rebates" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">East Bay Municipal Utility District</a> to present a self-guided tour of over 20 inspiring home gardens in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Lafayette, and Moraga. This tour highlights the beauty, creativity, and diversity of waterwise gardening in our local communities.
<ul><li>Participants must provide their own transportation and can explore the gardens at their own pace.</li><li>Tour runs from 9 am – 4 pm, with a lunch break from 12pm – 1 pm (Note: Gardens will be closed from 12 pm – 1 pm)</li><li>Lunch is not provided, and the tour will take place rain or shine.</li><li>To help manage visitor flow, the tour is organized into three circuits. Circuits A, B, and C all feature the same gardens, but are arranged in a different viewing order and starting location to help spread out tour-goers and allow them to start near their own homes.</li></ul>
Circuit A begins in Pleasant Hill, then Walnut Creek, Lafayette, and finally Moraga.
Circuit B begins in Walnut Creek, then Lafayette, Moraga, and finally Pleasant Hill .
Circuit C begins in Moraga, then Lafayette, Pleasant Hill and finally Walnut Creek.&nbsp;On April 24, registered participants will receive an email with garden addresses, maps, garden descriptions, and a one-time admission pass to the Ruth Bancroft Garden valid Saturday, April 25 (the day of the tour) through May 8, 2026.
