We are honored to welcome renowned basket weavers Dr. Julia Parker (Coast Miwok/Kashaya Pomo) and Lucy Parker (Coast Miwok/Kashaya Pomo/Yosemite Miwok/Mono Lake Paiute) as our Guests of Honor.
These women are acclaimed artists, educators, and cultural stewards whose work has helped preserve and share Indigenous traditions across generations. Dr. Julia Parker, a recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship, has spent decades teaching and demonstrating the artistry of traditional basketry—vessels that carry the knowledge, stories, and values of ancestors while inspiring future generations. Her daughter, Lucy Parker, is an accomplished weaver and advocate who works closely with national parks, public agencies, and land management organizations to promote the protection of traditional homelands, cultural resources, and Indigenous stewardship practices.
Their extraordinary baskets are featured in museums and private collections throughout the world.We invite you and your guests to join us for this memorable evening, beginning with a cocktail reception and silent auction featuring a curated collection of fine basketry, handmade flutes, books, photography, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Guests will then enjoy a dinner showcasing organic, seasonal, and thoughtfully crafted cuisine.
The evening’s program will also feature music by Grammy-nominated artist Aaron White (Northern Ute, Diné), culminating in a special presentation by our Guests of Honor, Dr. Julia Parker and Lucy Parker.
