Contra Costa County Coronavirus Cases Inch Up To 41
The number of new cases has slowed.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — The number of new coronavirus cases, or COVID-19, in Contra Costa County inched up to 41 on Wednesday, from 39 on Tuesday. The daily count from Contra Costa Health Services briefly showed a reduction as it was determined that one patient was in another county. However, by 1:25 p.m. the numbers had been updated.
Just two new cases added to the total demonstrates a slowing in the total caseload, even if it only lasts a day.
Not all counties are as fortunate. Alameda County's cases rose by four to 31 today, and hard-hit Santa Clara County announced its sixth death.

The county has set up a Coronavirus Call Center for more information: 1-844-729-8410.
On Tuesday, the county posted a video with information about the shelter-in-place. Director of Contra Costa Health Services Anna Roth calls it a vital step in stopping the spread of coronavirus, "The order is in place to support social distancing because we know that COVID-19 is now transmitting, spreading in our community, and this order is aiming to slow that spread. We're doing that because we want to protect the most vulnerable in our community as well as reduce the burden on our health care system."
She emphasized the importance of staying at home, saying that "travel should be limited to essential services only."
