Episcopal Senior Communities to open new Senior Produce Market in Seaside

Grand opening of nutrition program for seniors scheduled for September 5th at Oldemeyer Center

Episcopal Senior Communities is preparing to open its newest Senior Produce Market on September 5th at the Oldemeyer Center in Seaside. The grand opening will take place at 10:00 am and will include breakfast refreshments and a raffle.

The Senior Produce Market program sells fresh fruits and vegetables at cost to seniors, allowing people on fixed incomes a chance to buy high quality produce in smaller quantities and at lower prices. Senior Produce Markets are located in churches, senior centers, and affordable housing sites throughout Northern California, operated by volunteers, most of them seniors themselves. Venues also provide a resource center for information and referral, education, and socializing.

Episcopal Senior Communities currently sponsors more than 20 Senior Produce Markets, with three more scheduled to open in 2017.
