Summer Program: Jr. Dog Trainer Camp (Registration)

  • Junior Dog Trainer at Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation
  • Grades 9-12  Hurry, this program fills up quickly!
In this camp, each student will be assigned their own real ARF dog for the week. Participants will learn about the value of reward-based dog training and how to get the best results. Students will also learn about behavior problem solving and put this new knowledge into action with their ARF dog. We will discuss dog body language and dog play styles while watching dog play groups in action!

  • In addition, campers will learn about canine freestyle (aka doggy dancing) and how to navigate a basic agility course with their dog. At the end of the week, campers will be able to show off all their hard work at our graduation talent show. This is truly a unique opportunity for participants to learn about training and give these dogs a "paw-up" on finding their forever home!

Junior Dog Trainer is open to students grades 9-12 with a real interest in dog training. Campers should come prepared to get dirty and should be comfortable around dogs of all sizes.

Hours: 9 a.m. - Noon, Monday - Friday
Price: $200 per one week session
$175 per camper when you register with a sibling or friend
