Guava Island Eats Coming To Walnut Creek
The new restaurant on North Main Street will feature Filipino-inspired food.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A new restaurant, Guava Island Eats, is expected to open in Walnut Creek next month, the Bay Area News Group reports. The brainchild of restauranteur JB Balingit, it will feature Filipino ingredients like ube and calamansi.
The menu is expected to include rice bowls, tropical ice cream flavors, locally-roasted Hawaiian blend coffee, and more, like the first Guava Island Eats already open in Martinez.
A native Californian who spent part of his adult life in the Philippines, Balingit's emphasis is fresh ingredients. He began his career working as a food runner in a chain restaurant, and now owns multiple restaurants in Lafayette and Martinez.
