Looters Strike Walnut Creek, BART Station Closed

Looters struck retail stores in Walnut Creek. BART has closed the station due to unrest, however, no protesters were seen.

WALNUT CREEK, CA —Widespread looting hit the city of Walnut Creek, Sunday evening. Police responded to the scene of Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek after 6 p.m., where looters crashed through windows and ransacked high-end goods.

Due to civil unrest in the Broadway Plaza area, the City of Walnut Creek establishing a curfew, effective at 6:30 p.m.

Ray-Ban, LuLuLemon, and H&M were among the stores where looters broke windows and gathered armfuls of merchandise.

All businesses downtown were asked to close immediately.

At Stoneridge Shopping Center in Pleasanton, all five entrances were closed due to "credible threats" of planned looting, police advised.

"Please ensure your doors are locked and secured. Please call 9-1-1 only in the event of an emergency," a city spokesperson said.

There was no sign of Black Lives Matter protesters during the looting, according to reports from the scene.
