In a separate crash in Concord, a 38-year-old woman was killed in a two-car collision, with the other driver hospitalized but expected to survive, according to county authorities.

Large firework explosion damages East Bay home where racially charged outburst captured on video (eastbaytimes.com) — Walnut Creek's bomb squad assisted Antioch police after a large firework was thrown at a Lake Alhambra home tied to viral, racially charged confrontation videos, damaging the property but injuring no one. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage, probing possible links to online backlash, and urging residents to share information with police rather than resort to vigilante actions.
