WALNUT CREEK, CA — Office Max and Office Depot announced a recycling program in July for Keurig K-Cups.

While the coffee makers are popular because of the flexibility of making different brews and just one cup at a time, they also create plastic waste because the pods are used one time and then thrown away.

The recycling program included a coupon for 10 percent off Keurig K-Cup pod purchases.
