Renovating the Mature Landscape: Resources and Inspiration for a Beautiful Sustainable Garden

Get a fresh perspective that will inspire your landscape work with clients or at home in your personal garden. This full-day seminar at The Gardens at Heather Farm on Thursday, October 12th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. features three industry experts sharing their knowledge and providing tips for restoring and rejuvenating mature garden landscapes to meet today’s standards for beauty and sustainability. See how an outdated and aging area of The Gardens property is transformed by into an updated, sustainable space using the techniques discussed.

In Part One of the seminar, Laura Forlin, Department Co-Chair of the Landscape Horticulture Department at Merritt College, will discuss Site Analysis. Part Two will feature the topic of integrating 21st Century Infrastructure into the established garden space, as led by Cheryl Buckwater, president of EcoLandscape California Board. APLD landscape designer, Rebecca Sweet, will round out the seminar with a presentation on the Multiple Benefits of New Plants. After the lecture, attendees with enjoy a self-guided tour of the featured newly-renovated landscape at The Gardens.
