Walnut Creek officers were called Thursday at 4 p.m. to Ygnacio Plaza on Ygnacio Valley Road where a person was bleeding in the parking lot after being struck in the head with handguns by two, masked suspects attempting to steal the individual's Rolex watch, police said.

The pair, later identified as Rogers and Lopez, left the scene in a black Honda sedan, which they later crashed on Bancroft Road near La Corso Circle and then ran off, officials said. Walnut Creek police said assistance from witnesses and a Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office helicopter led to the arrests.
