Sauced BBQ in Walnut Creek Gifts $2K to Contra Costa Meals on Wheels

The funds came from the eatery's "soft opening" in November in Walnut Creek.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA – Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services in Contra Costa County recently received a $2,000 donation from Sauced BBQ & Spirits, the newly opened eatery in Walnut Creek.

Sauced BBQ & Spirits opened in downtown Walnut Creek in November, and Sauced owners, Barrett Gomes and Brenden Scanian, chose to donate proceeds from tickets sold during its "soft opening" to a non-profit community organization.

"The decision to partner with Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services was an easy one," said Dave Schaefer, general manager of the Walnut Creek location. "MOWSOS is integral in providing those in need two things that Sauced BBQ & Spirits are most passionate about - meals and service."

Meals on Wheels and Senior Outreach Services is a full-service, nonprofit organization dedicated since 1968 to helping seniors live independently and with dignity. Based in Walnut Creek, the agency serves older adults all across Contra Costa County. More information can be found at www.mowsos.org.

Sauced BBQ & Spirits, located at 1410 Locust St. in Walnut Creek, offers slow-smoked, southern BBQ and a large selection of southern-style sides.
