Two Arrested After Walnut Creek Burglary Turns Into Police Pursuit
A third suspect is still at large.

Police arrested two people and are still looking for a third after a report of a residential burglary in Walnut Creek turned into a suspect pursuit this afternoon, according to police. Officers arrested Brenda Vascones, 25, and Omar Garcia, 19, both of Concord, Walnut Creek police Lt. Steve Gorski said.
The suspects are also wanted in connection with alleged crimes committed today in Danville, Danville police Chief Steve Simpkins said. Gorski said officers responded shortly before noon to a report of a residential burglary on Arkell Road in Walnut Creek.
An officer saw the suspects’ vehicle, a white Cadillac, near the intersection of Arkell Road and Treat Boulevard and began pursuing the car, according to Gorski.

The driver, who police identified as Vascones, drove to an area near the Pleasant Hill BART station, where she reportedly struck another car and crashed the Cadillac. Gorski said the other car sustained only minor damage and no one was injured.
Vascones, Garcia and a third passenger jumped out of the car and tried to run away before police apprehended Vascones and Garcia. Gorski said police are still looking for the other passenger and said a suspect description is not currently available. Police arrested Vascones on suspicion of fleeing the scene, possessing stolen property and conspiracy to commit a crime. Garcia was arrested on suspicion of possessing narcotics and resisting arrest, Gorski said.
