Walnut Creek Bakery Opening Delayed
Originally scheduled for an August debut, look for Third Culture Bakery in October.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Third Culture Bakery is still planning to open in Walnut Creek, but the opening has been delayed from August until October.
The business ran into an issue with the fire inspector.
When it finally opens, their popular mango–passion fruit donuts may be in short supply. “It’s just so fascinating how everything is so global,” Wenter Shyu, co-owner of Third Culture Bakery, told SF Eater. “Most consumers don't think about that.”

Their passion fruit supplier is a farm in Hawaii. Unfortunately, the farm did not harvest its crop in 2020 because of a lack of labor and lack of demand. Now, the back stock is running out.
Other supplies are also taking longer to reach the business, and they cost more.
