Walnut Creek Burglaries: Vehicles, Homes Targeted
One residence had its door kicked in the week.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Walnut Creek Police are investigating both home and vehicle burglaries this week.
Officer Duncan reported on Wednesday that a residence in the area of Oak Grove Road and Peachwillow Lane was burglarized after its door was kicked in. According to the officer, "In cases like these, the burglar will often knock to confirm no one is home."

Earlier this week, police reported 6 auto burglaries scattered around the city. Backpacks, golf clubs, purses, wallets, and more had been left in plain view, making those vehicles a target for thieves.
The report comes just a week after police said that there has been a substantial number of auto burglaries and thefts from unlocked vehicles.Those crimes were reported on Marchbanks Drive, Stratton Circle, Gill Port Court, Player Court, Carriage Drive, Olmo Way, and Masters Court. The time frames for these crimes have been all hours of the day, and night.

Walnut Creek Police Detective Estrada reminds residents to lock their vehicles even if they are parked in the driveway or on the street in front of your home.
