The pop-up rink was scrapped in 2020, due to the pandemic. This year, the extravaganza will host skating for the general public, plus family skate nights and pick-up hockey.

Walnut Creek On Ice will be at Civic Park, 1375 Civic Drive, Walnut Creek. Go here for times and ticket info.

And in Concord, this year will mark the fourth season for the 3,500-square-foot Veranda rink, which will run daily through Feb. 14, 2022, with 90-minute skate sessions, skate rentals from toddler- to adult-sizes, plus lessons for wobbly skaters.

Veranda skating sessions are $16 per skater, including rental, and can purchased in advance or on site, on a first-come, first-served basis. Season passes also are available for $109 per person.

Ice at the Veranda hours: Mondays through Thursdays: 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturdays: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sundays: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; with special holiday hours on select dates. Private events and private lessons can be booked at theveranda@icerinkevents.com.

The Veranda is at 2001-2003 Diamond Blvd. in Concord. See all info here.
