WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Walnut Creek school is one of dozens in the Bay Area that have been awarded a combined $100,000 in grants that will fund programs ranging from musical instruments to Korean language classes to Chromebook laptops that will be used inside classrooms.
Wellspring Educational Services Inc. in Walnut Creek will use its $3,000 grant to fund an occupational therapy room with trampolines, swings and other equipment for children with special needs.
The grants, presented on Dec. 12 to students and teachers, were given out as part of the Wells Fargo KNBR Step Up to the Plate program, which has granted more than $1.3 million over the last 18 years.
