Slice House By Tony Gemignani Raises Money For Sick Kids

If you buy specialty pizzas dreamed up by two MLB players, donations will be made to a care center for terminally ill children.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Rapid fire question: pepperoni pizza or meat and veggie combo?

You can settle the issue — and help kids at the same time — by participating in the fifth annual players’ seasonal pizzas promotion at Slice House by Tony Gemignani at Walnut Creek.

13-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani and San Francisco Giants stars Brandon Belt and Alex Dickerson have teamed up to create seasonal pizzas, available for a limited time, in support of George Mark Children’s House.

Gemignani will donate $1 from each players’ custom slice and $6 from each full pie sold.

Dickerson’s Double Header - thick rosa grande pepperoni, thin cup n’ char pepperoni, tomato sauce, garlic oil, oregano, and romano cheese. Buy it by the slice for $6.50 or a full pie for $39.

Belt’s Monster Meat Pizza - pepperoni, sausage, bacon, red and green onion, bell pepper, shaved Parmigiano and Romano cheeses and a side of chili oil. Like Dickerson's Double Header, buy it by the slice for $6.50 or a full pie for $39.

The fundraiser runs through Sept. 26.

So who's Tony Gemgnani? He's a 13-time World Pizza Champion, master instructor at the International School of Pizza, two-time Food Network gold medalist, restaurateur and Slice House founder.

George Mark Children’s House in San Leandro provides life affirming care for children with terminal illnesses, or for those who have chronic medical conditions. The care is family-centered in a compassionate, supportive atmosphere. The center also offers families Respite Care, End-of-Life Care, and Bereavement support.

In addition to the fundraiser, Slice House offers several pizzas by the slice artfully made with artisan flours, authentic sauces and seasonal ingredients, as well as a full service catering menu for offsite group events and large party orders.

By the way, the Giants Community Fund’s Junior Giants Baseball Program received the 2015 Commissioner’s Award for Philanthropic Excellence and the San Francisco Giants were named ESPN Sports Humanitarian Team of the Year in July of 2016.
