2 More Coronavirus Deaths In Santa Cruz Co.; Latest Case Count
Also: Officials release new details in the deaths reported last week.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA β Santa Cruz County's COVID-19 death toll is now at eight after another two patients died this week.
No additional details about those patients are currently available, the county said Friday morning in a news release.
The county previously reported another two deaths last week. Officials have since received their death certificates and confirmed one patient was a man in his early 60s and the other was a woman in her late 90s. Both had underlying health conditions and COVID-19 was considered to be a contributing factor in their deaths, the county said.

The woman was hospitalized for two weeks, but the man did not seek medical care and tested positive for the coronavirus after his death, the county said.
The county urged residents to seek medical care, regardless of insurance coverage or the cost of care. All have access to coverage for COVID-19 diagnostic testing and related services, and treatment thanks to the federal Families First Coronavirus Response Act, the county said.

Santa Cruz County reported a total of 1,371 cases as of Friday morning, including 989 active cases.
The two latest deaths reported Friday have not yet been reflected in the county's death toll.
