$22,000 Gifted To Dominican Hospital By Watsonville Police

The money will support breast cancer patients in south Santa Cruz County, at the Katz Cancer Resource Center.

WATSONVILLE, CA β€” The Watsonville Police Department will donate $22,000 to the Dominican Hospital Katz Center Resource Center for breast cancer patients in south Santa Cruz County, the hospital announced.

This marks the third year that the police department has participated in the Pink Patch Project fundraiser, in which pink law enforcement patches are sold to the community and proceeds are donated to cancer centers. Watsonville Police have more than tripled the donations raised in its first year participating in the fundraiser.

The resource center offers patient education, support groups, yoga, wigs and makeup classes for women expecting to go through chemo and more, said Renee Gonzales, of the Katz Center Resource Center, in a video posted by the police department on Facebook.
