Coach Accused Of Soliciting ‘Provocative’ Photos From Student

WATSONVILLE, CA — A Watsonville high school teacher’s aide and cheerleading coach was arrested weeks after he solicited "provocative" photos from a student, police said. Pajaro Valley High School employee Matthew Davis, 36, was arrested Thursday while on his way to work, according to police.

“During a three-week period, Davis pressured a teenage girl to agree to a nude photo shoot,” police said. “The victim refused and reported his inappropriate behavior to school administrators this week.”

Police said they launched an investigation and monitored text messages between the victim and Davis, which lead to the arrest.

Davis was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of attempting to produce child pornography, soliciting a minor for a sexual act and arranging to meet with an underage girl.
