Elderly Woman Injured In Watsonville Main St. Crash

The 77-year-old lost control of her SUV and crashed into a truck, officials said.

WATSONVILLE, CA – A 77-year-old woman suffered major injuries and was taken to a trauma center today in a car crash that shut down through-traffic on Main Street in Watsonville, authorities said.

The woman lost control of her SUV and crashed into a commercial truck, the Watsonville Police Department said.

Officers reopened Main Street at South Green Valley Road and the Main Street exit from Highway 1 after the two-car accident investigation was completed shortly after 3 p.m.

A two-vehicle accident has closed Main Street areas in Watsonville today, according to authorities.

Drivers will be unable to exit from Highway 1 onto Main Street, the Watsonville Police Department said.

Areas closed to traffic are southbound Main Street at Highway 1 and northbound Main Street at Green Valley Road, the department said.

Road closures are expected to last for several hours, police said at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

No information was released on any possible injuries or the condition of the motorists.
