In an abundance of caution, and based on County Health guidelines, all City of Watsonville programs, events and facility rentals will be canceled effective immediately through April 6, 2020. In addition to small classes and programs, this will include large events including the farmers market, community census events and the annual Earth Day event. While the Main and Freedom branch libraries will remain open for now, library programming will also be canceled through April 6th.
Several City facilities, including the Youth Center, community centers, Police Activities League, Science Workshop, Nature Center and Senior Center will be closed. We will be strongly advising our partners and community organizations to also adhere to State and County guidance to close or cancel activities during this closure period.
We will also be making accommodations to waive all utility billing late fees and shutoffs until further notice, and we encourage customers to pay online or over the phone at 831-768-3455.
At this point in time, all other City services remain operational. However, this is a rapidly evolving situation, changing by the day. We will continue to keep the community updated. Thank you for joining us in our efforts to keep our community healthy.
