Deputies stopped the man's car after noticing the license plate was covered in spray paint.

WATSONVILLE, CA β A Santa Cruz County man arrested during a traffic stop is accused of being under the influence of methamphetamine, officials said. A deputy stopped the car after he noticed the license plate was covered in spray paint.
While talking to the driver, later identified as Andres Hernandez Rodriguez, the deputy noticed what appeared to be a gun on the seat. The gun was determined to be a replica, but had been tampered with to remove the orange safety tip. Deputies allegedly found a meth pipe while searching the car.
