• Watsonville City Council to consider allocation of Measure Q funds (santacruzsentinel.com) — Watsonville officials are set to decide how to spend nearly $904,000 in Measure Q funds on parks, including new maintenance staff, City Plaza revitalization, and a Pinto Lake water quality plan. The City Council meets Tuesday evening at City Hall, where it will also discuss an updated energy services agreement and hold a public employee performance review in closed session.
   

• Hundreds celebrate Labor Day in Watsonville (pajaronian.com) — Hundreds of residents gathered at Romo Park in downtown Watsonville for a Labor Day picnic featuring live music, food, and speeches focused on workers' rights and local investments. State lawmakers highlighted new funding for Watsonville Community Hospital and future Pajaro Valley improvements, while urging voters to oppose a voter ID measure and support a statewide housing bond.
