SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Santa Cruz County man is behind bars after he was allegedly caught inside the storage area of a business, sheriff’s officials said. A resident in the 2800 block of Soquel Avenue called the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s office Saturday night to report a suspicious person, later identified as Guzmaro Abriz, climbing the fence in her yard to access a nearby business.

Deputies arrived and found Abriz nearby as he allegedly ran from the scene. When he was captured, he was in possession of items he stole from the business and his jeans were ripped from climbing the fence, according to authorities. Abriz was arrested on suspicion of theft and trespassing.
