School Lockdowns Lifted In Santa Cruz Co.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA β A bomb threat prompted lockdowns and the evacuation of a Santa Cruz County middle school this morning, sheriffβs office officials said. Students at San Lorenzo Valley Middle School were evacuated to the football field while San Lorenzo Valley High School and San Lorenzo Valley Elementary School students and staff were placed on a precautionary lockdown, which has since been lifted.
Parents were notified of the bomb threat by phone and email and were directed to the Felton Bible Church rather than the school, according to the sheriffβs office. A bomb detection canine helped deputies search the middle school campus. No suspicious items were found during the extensive search, according to officials.
