In a distressing video posted by Watsonville PD, a man is found armed with a handgun after police arrive on scene.
WATSONVILLE, CA β Police arrested a man last week, still armed with a handgun when the Watsonville Police Department arrived to check out a report of shots fired near River Park. A video posted to the police department's Facebook shows Irineo Ramirez, 42, held the gun behind his back when officers arrived, then dropped it seconds after officers shone a spotlight on the firearm and ordered him to drop it.
Officers working the night shift received information that a man in the area was wearing a red shirt and waving a gun, police say. Shots were fired.
Police say they quickly found Ramirez and drew their guns after noticing his right arm was hidden, while his left was raised in the air. He moved his right arm, revealing a large revolver.
