UPDATED: Student Protesters Blocking Access To UC Santa Cruz
The campus is open, but school officials are asking individuals to stay away. Bay and High street area closed.

Notice from the Santa Cruz Police Department:
Protestors have shut down the UCSC campus as of 6:30 this morning.

Bay Street at High Street is completely closed with no access past that intersection.
SCPD is working with USCSPD and will update road closures if they occur.

School officials at the University of California, Santa Cruz are advising individuals not to come to campus this morning due to protesters blocking road access to the University.
The campus remains open, but individuals are advised to not try to get onto campus. University officials reported protesters started blocking the west entrance to the university around 4:45 a.m.
The university is also reporting Coolidge and Hagar drives have been blocked at the intersection by protesters.
The University Library will be closed today and is expected to reopen Friday.
Protesters are demonstrating against possible tuition hikes planned across the university system.
