Transient Suspected Of Burglarizing Goodwill Store Arrested: Watsonville Police

WATSONVILLE, CA — A transient suspected of burglarizing two Watsonville stores early Tuesday morning has been arrested, Watsonville police officials said. Horacio Lara, 37, was detained after an officer discovered the man walking out of the Goodwill Industries store on Main Street at about 12:40 a.m.

Police said officers discovered Lara was in possession of property taken without permission from the nearby Casa Choi Discount store, which had also been burglarized. Lara allegedly broke the glass on the front doors of both stores in order to get inside. Lara was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and was booked in the Santa Cruz County Jail.
