Watsonville Launches Small Business Grant Program
Watsonville businesses may be eligible for a grant of up to $2,000, the city announced.
WATSONVILLE, CA — The City of Watsonville is launching a program to assist local small businesses facing past due rent and utility costs as a result of the new coronavirus pandemic.
The city said it expects to randomly award about 50 grants of up to $2,000. Applications will be accepted until 3 p.m. Friday, May 8.
Businesses are eligible if they:

- Are located in the City of Watsonville;
- Have a current business license with the city;
- Make $2 million or less in annual gross revenue; and
- Have not received the U.S. Small Business Administration Economic Injury Disaster Loan.
Grant funds can be used to help pay for rent and utility fees charged after March 15.
Watsonville said it encourages businesses owned by women and minorities to apply.

The city is administering the program with the help of El Pajaro Community Development Corportation.
