Watsonville Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Teen Girl

WATSONVILLE, CA — A Watsonville man is facing several charges after a teen girl came forward and reported that the 34-year-old was sexually abusing her.

Watsonville Police Detectives arrested Rickey Crawford as he was leaving the city Thursday morning. The arrest came a week after the teen girl came forward, according to the Watsonville Police Department.

The case was originally reported to the Santa Cruz Police Department but was later forwarded to the WPD because the sexual abuse was occurring in Watsonville, according to the WPD.

Crawford was being held at the Santa Cruz County Jail on $50,000 bail and faces several charges regarding the sexual abuse of a minor, the WPD said.
