Watsonville Man Arrested In Connection To Shooting
Deputies responded to the 200 block of Jolon Drive on a report of a shooting.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA -- Police on Tuesday arrested a man in connection with shooting that occurred Saturday in Santa Cruz County. Irvin Chavez, 20, of Watsonville, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at a residence, committing a felony while on bail and for use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.
On Saturday at 6:47 p.m., deputies responded to the 200 block of Jolon Drive on a report of a shooting.
Investigators determined a teal Honda CRV with two to four suspects had followed the victims' vehicle, and as the two victims got out of their vehicle, a suspect armed with a handgun confronted them.

The suspect then fired several shots in the direction of the victims, deputies said.
The victims fled into a residence and were not injured during the shooting.

Detectives were able to identify Chavez as the suspect who fired at the victims, according to the sheriff's office.
Chavez was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday around 2:20 p.m.
Deputies said the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.
