Watsonville Taekwondo Studio Owner Suspected Of Unlawful Sex Acts With Minor

BREAKING: Police said Nemesio Estrada-Alfaro was arrested on Thursday and has since been released on released on his own recognizance.

WATSONVILLE, CA — An owner of a Watsonville Taekwondo studio has been arrested on suspicion of unlawful sex acts, recording video sex acts and lewd actions, all with a minor, while awaiting trial on two other cases involving unlawful acts with a minor, all of whom were his students, according to Watsonville police.

Police said Nemesio Estrada-Alfaro was arrested on Thursday in the area of Main Street at South Green Valley Road. Estrada-Alfaro had been released on his own recognizance, according to Watsonville police, after a previous case had gone through a preliminary hearing in court. Trial dates have yet to be set for his two
previous cases, according to police.

The Santa Cruz District Attorney's office wasn't available Friday to answer questions seeking comment regarding the case. Police said they obtained new information this month regarding one of the two previous cases Estrada-Alfaro was arrested for.

That case, for which he was arrested Jan. 31, had Estrada-Alfaro being charged with willful cruelty to a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, furnishing marijuana to a minor and committing a felony while out on bail. The new information, according to police, included video evidence to allow for the charges on which he was arrested Thursday.

In a case for which he was arrested in 2016, Estrada-Alfaro was charged with annoying/molesting a child under 18, oral copulation with a minor with the intent to have sexual intercourse, willful cruelty to a child,
contributing to the delinquency of a minor and furnishing marijuana to a minor, police said.

Estrada-Alfaro was out on bail when he was arrested Jan. 31 for charges in his most recent case, according to police. He is currently being held at the Santa Cruz County Jail.
