Actor David Arquette Involved in Collision on Doheny Drive
The actor reportedly swerves to avoid a stopped car and hits an oncoming vehicle, but injuries to him and the other driver are not serious.
[Updated 7 p.m.] David Arquette sent out a message to his fans via Twitter and said, "I got into a car accident but I'm fine. Luckily I have dragon's blood running through my veins. Haha. Thank you for all your concern." It also appears the actor wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, Arquette also Tweeted, "Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was." Arquette says he was on his way to catch a plane to Vegas to see his friend Stevie D who is opening a restaurant called The Sugar Factor. "So sad I'm going to miss it," the actor Tweeted, "But [I'm] glad to be alive for a rain check. Refused all pain medication-may the record state-still sober!"
Actor David Arquette was involved in a head-on collision Friday afternoon in the 600 block of North Doheny Drive, on the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Elevado Avenue and North Doheny Drive around 2:10 p.m., according to Sgt. Shan Davis of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Arquette was driving behind a vehicle that stopped suddenly and he swerved to the left to avoid hitting the car and went into oncoming traffic, TMZ.com reported, citing witnesses at the scene. Arquette allegedly slammed into a car going in the opposite direction. TMZ has exclusive video taken at the scene of the accident.
Davis says the drivers of the vehicles were the only two occupants and both were transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with minor to moderate injuries. There were no other injuries reported.

Arquette has been separated from his wife, Courtney Cox (Friends, Cougar Town), since October and recently appeared on Oprah where he discussed his struggles with alcohol. Arquette also told Oprah about the intervention that family and friends held for him and how he's coping with the single life. He and Cox have a 6-year-old daughter, Coco.
The collision is under investigation by BHPD traffic detectives. Patch will update this story as more details become available.
