Patt Morrison Struts Her Stuff With "Don't Stop The Presses!"
KPPC's Larry Mantle Interviews Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist At "WEHO READS": Library Birthday Bash Has Cake & Bikini Too
To commemorate the 7th Anniversary of the West Hollywood Public Library, "WEHO READS" made a nod to the marble lions of "Patience & Fortitude" that stand guard at the foot of NYC's Main Public Library on Fifth Avenue, with flesh and blood defenders of freedom of speech and the fourth estate. Larry Mantle, the host of KPPC's "Air Talk," L.A.'s longest running talk program, interviewed Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist, Patt Morrison about her just released book, "Don't Stop The Presses: Truth, Justice and the American Newspaper."
Mantle managed to give Morrison plenty of room to allow her to be the diva that has made her so beloved by readers throughout Southern CA and elsewhere, and they both proved they are not that type of know-it-all, impervious to criticism nor improvement, as one might have concluded with their confusion as to why the New York Times eliminates bylines on its digital stories, about which I would venture to guess that updates on a 24/7 basis require revisions at the hands of more than the original reporter, and by Morrison's decision to feature a slide of the first bikini, which may or may not have been her pushback to a complaint made in Los Angeles Review of Books, "she leaves out arts and entertainment reporting and criticism — an odd omission for a Los Angeles–based writer." It easily could be my mistake, that this fashion plate of a reporter herself, and the reviewer, categorize this fashionista first as nothing else but news of the first order.
