• Hazard-tree mitigation and post-fire recovery operations on 22N11 Road and FH7 (usda.gov) — From Willows, the Forest Service is warning drivers and hunters about active hazard‑tree removal and post‑fire recovery work along FH7 and 22N11 on Mendocino National Forest. Expect heavy equipment, falling trees, traffic controls, and possible delays through the fall, and use extreme caution if you're traveling or recreating in this popular corridor in western Glenn and eastern Mendocino counties.

• AFM: Jason Nelson Captures the AFM Number 1 Plate (roadracingworld.com) — A major motorcycle racing milestone just played out at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, where rider Jason Nelson fought through a crash and last‑minute bike swap to clinch the AFM Formula Pacific championship. Local fans saw a dramatic 14‑lap duel, with Nelson snatching third place — and the series' coveted number‑one plate — by just 0.0016 seconds at the line.
