Apartment Fire Leaves One Hospitalized

The blaze in a first-floor apartment at 21721 Roscoe Blvd., near Topanga Boulevard, was reported at 11:54 a.m.

A kitchen fire damaged a Canoga Park apartment today and left one person hospitalized and two displaced, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The department dispatched 24 firefighters who put out the fire in about 10 minutes, Main said.

One person who breathed smoke was taken to a hospital to be checked out, Main said.

"That person and another person who lived in the apartment were displaced because of the fire," Main said. "The Red Cross is providing shelter for them."

How the fire started was not immediately known.
