Armed Suspects Strike Islands Restaurant at Closing Time

The robbery happened around 11 p.m. Sunday.

An armed robbery was carried out at closing time at a restaurant in Woodland Hills, police said today.

A gunman entered Islands Restaurant at 23397 Mulholland Drive around 11 Sunday night and demanded to be given money from the safe, said Lt. Stephanie Moten of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Station. Employees were closing the restaurant at the time.

“There were a few employees inside,” Moten said. “He took money from the safe.”

The amount was undisclosed. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a male with dark clothing wearing a hoodie and a bandana, Moten said. No vehicle was seen when he got away.
