City Looks to Ban Skateboarding on Hermano Drive

A City Councilman wants to prohibit Skateboard bombing on Hermano Drive.

A Los Angeles city councilman wants to prohibit skateboard racing on a portion of Hermano Drive in Tarzana.

According to a motion introduced by Councilman Bob Blumenfield, who represents the area, skateboarders having been racing down the street’s hills in an activity known as “bombing.”

Blumenfield wants to prohibit skateboarding on Hermano Drive from Reseda Boulevard to the terminus of the street. City officials can restrict skateboarding in places where “there is a willful or wanton disregard for the safety of person or property,” according to his motion.

His motion will be considered by the City Council’s Public Works and Gang Reduction Committee.
