Fire Destroys Four Vehicles in Underground Carport

Fire today destroyed four vehicles in an underground carport at a garden-style apartment building in Winnetka, witnesses said.

The fire was reported about 3:50 a.m. in the 20400 block of Sherman Way, they said.

Firefighters kept flames from spreading to apartments above the carport, according to the witness.
