Fueling Patriotism With Flags and Uncle Sam Along Ventura Blvd

Local volunteers and businesses supported a wonderful display of our Flag, as we celebrate the 238th Anniversary of our Nation's Founding

Did you notice? The Warner Center Kiwanis placed Flags all along Ventura Blvd back in May, in time for Memorial Day Weekend, Flag Day, and Independence Day. See photos on their May Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WarnerCenterKiwanis

201507559a4cdfab218.jpgVista Ford changed last year’s mega inflated eagle for a colorful Uncle Sam. Vista Ford has been a Shuken family owned dealership since 1974. Their acknowledgement of the Independence Day holiday was visible during the week prior to Independence day and the weekend.

USA Gas on Ventura and Shoup has recently replaced their flag, but it remains the largest flag along the Boulevard in the West Valley. Drivers, passengers, and those walking along the Ventura Boulevard can easily appreciate and notice the flag as it moves with the wind. Commuters on the westbound 101 freeway can easily see the flag also. The flag is hard to miss, and while it is a permanent and ongoing demonstration of patriotism it added to the display along the boulevard for Independence Day and weekend.

Thank you to all the businesses and volunteers for their time and efforts to keep the US Flag in our view. May we be as excited about the representation of freedom by the flag, as each of those who became new Americans at a special ceremony downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, July 3, 2015.
