Nine Injured, Two Seriously, When Car Rear-Ends Van Carrying Seniors

Nine people were injured, two of them seriously, when a car rear-ended a van carrying seniors this afternoon, authorities said.

The other seven patients were said to be in fair condition following the 1:33 p.m. crash in the 9200 block of DeSoto Avenue, said Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

All nine were taken to hospitals, she said. It was not immediately clear if all of the victims were riding in the van.
