Love knows no rules and plot follows no formula in Shakespeare’s pastoral set play. Mistaken identity and intrigue take center stage in this comedy beneath the trees of the Forest of Arden. “All the world’s a stage,” wrote the Bard, and that stage comes to life as good Duke Senior lives an idyllic life as a castaway of the court...along with those with enough folly to flee their lives of luxury for dirt and trees. Into the forest come more outcasts: a girl dressed as a boy, a girl dressed as a different girl, and a fool who will fancy a country girl, while capturing the imagination of the melancholy Jacques. Girls will find boys, brother will save brother, and usurper will face the usurped. And it will all turn out As You Like It.

For audiences seeking quality, family entertainment, Shakespeare by the Sea’s free performances can’t be beat. Pack a picnic, a blanket and beach chair, gather loved ones, and settle in under the stars for a night of classic entertainment. The tales are timeless, the admission ticketless, and the experience priceless.
